The Role of the Vascular Epigenome in Obesity-induced Vascular Dysfunction

epi_sam review

Here Masi et al. summarize recent advances in vascular biology and delineate mechanisms involved in epigenetic modulation of the vasculature, which, in turn, regulate the vascular transcriptome. The authors conclude that epigenetic remodelling significantly contributes to the development of obesity-induced endothelial dysfunction, and might, therefore, represent an interesting therapeutic target that could be addressed by novel management strategies.
