Dr. Nidaa Mikail successfully defends his PhD thesis “The Brain–Heart Axis: Sex Differences, Mechanisms, and Clinical Outcomes”

Dr. Nidaa Mikail from Prof. Cathérine Gebhard’s research group at the Center for Molecular Cardiology and the Department of Nuclear Medicine at University Hospital Zurich has successfully defended his PhD thesis, “The Brain–Heart Axis: Sex Differences, Mechanisms, and Clinical Outcomes.”

Nidaa’s doctoral research has investigated the complex relationship between the brain and the cardiovascular system, exploring the mechanisms underlying the brain–heart axis, including potential differences between women and men. The project has contributed to a better understanding of the interplay between psychological, biological, and cardiovascular factors.
