Novel findings suggest that angiogenesis and arteriogenesis can be stimulated by the NO-donor MPC-1011 in a model of hindlimb ischemia

vascular epigenome

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a common but debilitating condition caused by narrowing of arteries with little or no medical treatment options available. Recently, BG de Almeida Schirmer and associates have shown that the novel and unique NO donor, MPC-1011, promotes angiogenesis via NO-mediated signalling and proliferation of endothelial cells. Hence, MPC-1011 might be successfully used in the clinical setting in patients with PAD or in those with impaired limb perfusion. For more details, read the full article here.
